As we start making our way towards the back-half of the year, it’s important to remember the albums we’ve loved this year so far. As releases keep piling up, it’s easy for great works to get sort of buried or lost. And we can’t let that happen. We especially can’t let that happen for one of the greatest albums of 2018, Beach House‘s monumental work 7. That LP only came out back in May, but it already feels like its been quite a while. So in order to remind you of just how great it is, the dreamy duo have just dropped a great new video for album track “Drunk In LA.”
“Drunk In LA” acts as the centerpiece of 7, an album overflowing with new textures and layers of sound the band haven’t quite explored before. It’s also one of the most stunningly gorgeous songs on an album full of them. The track has now been given the official video treatment it so rightfully deserves. The new video was directed by Spaceman 3’s Sonic Boom, who also produced 7. It’s a trippy video that works primarily with strangely distorted images, but it also features some psychedelic horses, of course. In addition to the new video, the band have also shared a new remix of another album highlight “Black Car.” The remix was also done by Sonic Boom. With it, he’s stripped away a lot of the extra sounds permeating the song and instead focuses on Victoria Legrand’s always beautiful vocals as well as the spooky synth arpeggios that open the track.
