Bloc Party released their seminal debut album Silent Alarm way back in 2005. The UK-based rock band were part of the new wave of British bands in the early 2000s who saw acclaim worldwide. Since the release, the band have made four other records, the last one being 2016’s Hymns. But now the band (who’ve seen a lineup change semi-recently) are diving right back into the album that put their name on the map.
Announced today, Bloc Party will be releasing Silent Alarm Live on February 22 of 2019. Yeah, it’s a ways away. But there’s a good reason why. Throughout a bit of October, the band will be performing Silent Alarm in its entirety at a handful dates. From these dates, the band will pull together the best performances of each track and compile it into Silent Alarm Live. It should also be noted that Silent Alarm was originally released in February in 2005, so Silent Alarm Live will be hitting the 14th anniversary almost perfectly.
