As the final act at Charlotte’s mac n’ cheese hub Jack Beagles on New Year’s Eve 2018, Swim In The Wild burst on stage with an energy that felt like what Lake Norman probably feels like right now: pretty cool.
Swim In The Wild is an amusing group of guys who seem like being “wild” is more than a piece of their creative band name. Swim In The Wild is made up by five (mostly) shaggy-haired dudes Michael Hall, Steven Hall, Cameron Gersh Godwin, Jeff Small and Josh Thompson who all provide a lovely mix of talent to the overall sound. Diverse flavors that melt off each song from newest record One If By Land present the perfect backdrop for a Charlotte winter night with the banjo drawing in listeners, complemented by easy-going electric guitar runs. Constantly performing next to a wide range of other artists, Swim In The Wild seems to enjoy supporting fellow local Charlotte bands as they shared the stage with BadCameo on New Year’s Eve. On top of their recent local showcases, Swim In The Wild featured Charlotte venue The Evening Muse in their most recent music video for “Love Like The Wind”, with eye-catching overlays and decent video production of a live performance.
With a couple of shows coming up in many different areas, Swim In The Wild is an alternative rock act that’s definitely worth catching. Check out their upcoming events in Boone, NC and Macon, GA here!
