Earlier this year, Julien Baker signed with Matador Records for the release of her upcoming sophomore LP, Turn Out The Lights. Baker broke out onto the music scene with 2015’s heartbreaking and brilliant album Sprained Ankle, which won her acclaim from critics, music fans, and fellow musicians alike. In the lead up to the release of her new album, Baker has shared one single, “Appointments,” and now she’s debuted a new song titled “Hurt Less” live on A Prairie Home Companion.

Long-running radio show, A Prairie Home Companion started off their new season over the weekend with a live show from the Palace Theatre in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Among the guests were Chris Stapleton, comedian Laurie Kilmartin, and Julien Baker. Baker played her lead-off new single “Appointments” as well as new song “Hurt Less” and a hymn titled “It Is Well With My Soul.”

Listen to the whole broadcast here. Julien Baker’s performances are at 18:00, 23:00, and 1:53:50.

Turn Out The Lights is out on October 27th and can be pre-ordered here.
