Singer/songwriter Maggie Rogers started rising to prominence back in 2017 when her song “Alaska” started blowing up. The song came from her major label EP Now That The Light Is Fading from the same year. The 5-track project sparked widespread interest in the growing musician, with many believing she came out of nowhere. But Rogers had been quietly releasing music independently on her Bandcamp page for years prior. Her early work was steeped in classic folk sounds. But her 2017 EP sought to move away from that style with more synth-styled pop sensibility. And now, Maggie Rogers has just announced that more of that style is on the way in the form of her major label debut full length Heard It In A Past Life.
Heard It In A Past Life will not be out until January 18 next year. But already, we’ve been given some hints at what the record sounds like. The new LP features two tracks from her breakout EP, including the viral “Alaska.” But Rogers also shared two new singles over the summer which both will be making an appearance on the album. With the official announcement, she’s also shared yet another track from the project with “Light On.” The new song showcases her impeccable voice and knack for crafting a low-key pop jam.
