Boston-based alt rock band Major Moment are looking to take on 2019 with the drop of a new single titled “May Leave Scars.” The new track comes off of their forthcoming EP The Sequel, which is due out this May. The new track goes back to the alternative rock stylings that seem to be fading these days. But as was the case with their EP last year, Major Moment are keen to make a point that this genre is alive as ever.
Major Moment first really broke through last year with the release of a cover of Linkin Park’s “Leave Out All The Rest.” The song came out after the heartbreaking news of Chester Bennington’s death. It was also a partnership between 320 Changes Direction, a campaign that raises awareness for mental health and suicide prevention. Shortly after the success of that cover, Major Moment dropped their debut EP one small stEP, which was also dedicated to Bennington.
Now, the trio are back and ready to make more waves in the alternative scene, while also taking their role as being public voices seriously. Lead singer Andrey Borzykin says:
“Considering the destructive messages modern pop culture carelessly brings to society, we feel it’s our social responsibility to deliver an alternative message. One of love, trust, believing in ourselves and supporting one another.”
Their new single “May Leave Scars” does just that. It’s got a harder-edged rock sound, a soaring chorus, and an overall message of positivity that should resonate with anyone. Check out the lyric video down below.
