A couple of weeks ago, the twin sister duo Say Lou Lou shared a great new single called “Golden Child.” The song itself is the layered, fully-releazied sound Miranda and Elektra Kilbey are going for with their music. It’s also a nice taste of what we can expect from their upcoming sophomore release Immortelle. Now the sisters have doubled-down on the goodness that is “Golden Child” by dropped a beautifully composed new video.
The video for “Golden Child” is a striking reminder of in-charge Say Lou Lou are when it comes to their music. It’s a visual feast build upon sweeping, surreal scenes that play on some sci-fi-esque imagery. It was filmed entirely in just five days, partially shot on location at Joshua Tree National Park. The beautiful direction comes from Laura Gorun and Dimitri Basil.
The sisters describe the video as such:
“A dream like narrative about false ideas of freedom – how we are frozen in the roles we are dealt like self-imposed statues, imitated, constructed and systematically kept in our place. Can we break the chain if we don’t see it?”
Give it a watch below.
Immortelle is out September 21.
