Spotlight: Washington, DC’s Disco Muerte

Disco Muerte is an electronic rock duo hailing from Washington, D.C. Beginning in 2015, two former rock bandmates sought to create electronic music using heavily manipulated guitars instead of synthesizers. After amassing an album’s worth of material by exchanging song ideas via email, Disco Muerte teamed up with multi-platinum producer Kevin “131” Gutierrez (Shinedown, O.A.R.) to formally record their self-titled debut album. By adding modern pop production to the initial “guitar only” concept, Gutierrez’s contribution resulted in a collaboration that can best be described as an organic and dynamic fusion of disparate genres. “Disco Muerte” is now available worldwide on all online music stores and streaming services.
