The Hold Steady, a mainstay rock band with some of the best modern songwriting, have just dropped two new singles. For fans of the band this double single drop has become a running theme throughout this year. Previous to today, they’ve shared three other double a-side singles produced from various short sessions. Each time, the band have used this release to pump up fans who may be attending some upcoming major tour dates. This time is no different.
“Confusion in the Marketplace” and “T-Shirt Tux” are the two new songs that have graced us via The Hold Steady’s bandcamp page. The tracks both continue in the trend set by the other recently released singles in that they are solid, anthemic crowd-pleasers. This time out the band are celebrating an upcoming run of shows at The Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto. The shows will see the band celebrating the 10th anniversary of their underrated album Stay Positive by playing it in full (alongside some classic jams).
