It’s been a couple of months since we really heard from Wye Oak. They dropped their sixth studio album The Louder I Call, The Faster It Runs back in April, and it might be one of the highlights of the year. The duo of Jenn Wasner and Andy Stack seem to be in a new phase in their discography. The new LP is very much a mixture of their earlier guitar-driven sound and their more recent electronic sound. But throughout the new songs, it’s clear they’ve found a way to perfectly meld these two sides together into something new, and ultimately rewarding.
As you can guess, Wye Oak have been doing the touring circuit and whatnot since the release of the new album. And luckily for all of us, they stopped by the great KEXP studios to do one of those half hour performances. Their set includes four tracks from The Louder I Call, The Faster It Runs, plus some interview portions. And of course, Wye Oak being such dynamic performers, the set is completely fantastic. Somehow these two musicians (well, three with their touring member) create a palpable atmosphere with such a minimal setup. And those new songs sound really great in a live setting.

Wye Oak have a good batch of tour dates coming the rest of the year. For all dates and ticket info head right here.
