YUNGBLUD shares a visual depiction of what his struggles with depression and anxiety look like in his head in a new music video for the song ”Kill Somebody” off his newest album 21st Century Liability.

“Kill Somebody” is nothing short of uncomfortable and maybe a bit disturbing for some. The video begins with the artist sat in a dark, dimly lit room playing guitar with his face and hands covered in blood. This is seen as the dark place that the artist has discovered in his head. The visuals seem to intensify, with YUNGBLUD standing in an empty room having what appears to be a mental break, laughing and smiling at the blood on his hands. The next scene shows the artist sat in a chair with a gun held to his head by an unknown person. The camera switches, revealing that the person holding the gun is himself. The idea of suicide is very much so present throughout the entire video.

YUNGBLUD took to Instagram, saying: this song is about a pretty dark place I found in my mind. at first, it really scared me. but I learned to talk about it. mental health is finally being taken seriously and this song helped me free myself from the weight of it for a while. I wanted the video to visually represent the internal feeling of anxiety and depression from an outward perception. I was so excited to keep it really stripped back compared to my other videos. this was important to me because I didn’t want to cloud the message behind it.”

The artist also took to Twitter, saying “this is a visual depiction of what anxiety feels like inside my head. for those of you who have felt or feel any type of darkness, know you’re not alone.”
