Last Saturday night, Knocked Loose rolled through Carrboro, NC on their album release tour, playing at the Cat’s Cradle with Stick To Your Guns, Rotting Out, Candy, and Seeyouspacecowboy. The show was nothing short of absolute chaos from start to finish, and if you haven’t had a chance to catch the Oldham County-based hardcore act, now is definitely the time to do so. Knocked Loose has blown up in the past few years, with their previous release Laugh Tracks garnering the band significant attention. Their current release, A Different Shade of Blue, has only propelled the band to even further heights. As they’ve embarked on their album support tour, they are currently playing the majority of the album live, giving new listeners the perfect chance to catch Knocked Loose in their prime.
Having seen Knocked Loose perform before, I was well aware of what I’d be getting into at this show, however I still managed to be both impressed and taken aback by the sheer overpowering, raw energy on display which immediately consumed the entire 750-cap room as the band took stage. They wasted no time at all and opened their performance with “Trapped In the Grasp of a Memory,” “All My Friends,” and “Blood Will Have Blood” which set the crowd off with an explosion of unparalleled chaos that lasted the entire performance. There’s no exaggeration at all when I say that this was definitely one of the most difficult shows I’ve ever shot, on account of having to dodge stage divers literally every song while timing shots with the difficult lighting situation. That being said, these conditions made this show truly one to remember. Knocked Loose closed out their dominating performance with “Billy No Mates” and “Counting Worms” allowing fans to storm the stage and scream the words along.
Knocked Loose’s second full-length album A Different Shade of Blue was released on August 23rd via Pure Noise Records and is available on their webstore!
