Danny Brown officially announces new album ‘uknowhatimsayin¿,’ drops new single

Published

Back in April, Danny Brown quietly shared that he’d be releasing a new album this year called uknowhatimsayin? which was going to feature Q-Tip as an executive producer on all tracks. Now, he’s made the announcement even more official with a slightly tweaked title (now it’s uknowhatimsayin¿ – note the upside down question mark), a release date, album art, full tracklist, and the album’s first official single.

uknowhatimsayin¿ is headed our way on October 4 via Warp Records. The album will be Danny Brown’s first since his monumental, best-of-year 2016 LP Atrocity Exhibition. Except this time, it seems, he’ll be going for something even more different.

As per a press release, Brown says:

“This is my version of a stand-up comedy album. Most of my close friends now aren’t rappers—they’re comedians and actors. So I wanted to create something that mixed humor with music. Something that was funny but not parody.”

Considering how dark Brown’s music could get, maybe some levity will be welcome. To get a sense of what he’s going for, check out the album’s lead single “Dirty Laundry” down below. Also below you’ll find all the details you need about uknowhatimsayin¿
